PROJECT OVERVIEW
Mobile ordering app UX/UI project for Taco Express, a delivery- and takeout-only Mexican restaurant. The app was designed to serve busy college students, professionals, and families seeking a fast, seamless ordering experience. The design focused on simplifying the ordering flow, improving order accuracy, and enhancing user satisfaction through intuitive navigation and real-time order updates.

PROBLEM / OBJETIVE
Customers experienced long wait times during peak hours, frequent order errors, and confusion with loyalty rewards across takeout and delivery channels. The existing "build your own taco" flow was cluttered and difficult to use on mobile screens, leading to user frustration and cart abandonment.

SOLUTION
• Conducted user research, including simulated interviews and persona development, to understand user needs and pain points
• Designed streamlined user flows for both pickup and delivery, enabling order completion in under two minutes.
• Created wireframes, interactive prototypes, and UI mockups in Figma, focusing on mobile usability and intuitive navigation.
• Developed a simplified "build your own taco" feature, integrated real-time order status updates, and clarified loyalty rewards.
• Designed push notification screens and collaborated on visual design elements, including branding and iconography.
• Conducted usability testing to validate solutions and iterated designs based on user feedback.

RESULTS
• Enabled users to customize taco orders in under two minutes, improving speed and ease of use.
• Delivered real-time updates for delivery or pickup, enhancing order transparency.
• Simplified access to rewards and saved orders, improving user engagement.
• Created a cohesive visual system with key screens: homepage, menu customization, order tracking, and loyalty dashboard.
